LATEST REGIONAL WEATHER DISCUSSION...
TUESDAY 6 MAY 2025. UPDATED 5:00 AM NDT / 3:30 AM AST
|
Windy Tuesday..
A strong west to southwesterly flow will develop over the region today in response to an area of low pressure passing to the north in combination with high pressure to the south. Winds will begin to ease tonight as these features move off to the east, but fair skies will give way to increasing clouds ahead of a trough of low pressure approaching from the west. The trough will likely bring some shower activity as it moves eastwards on Wednesday.
Current indications are pointing to a rather messy weather day for Thursday, as a frontal boundary appears set to stall over the region, bringing snow to the northern areas and a mixture of ice pellets and freezing rain further south. Stay tuned.
